Kodak's View on Camera-Phone Evolution

Video/Imaging Design Line: Feisal Mosleh, head of worldwide marketing and business development for Kodak's Mobile Imaging Business in the Consumer Digital Group, publishes his view on past, present and future of camera-phones. Comparing camera module with DSC he introduces a rule of ten:

"The mobile camera is a factor of ten different from DSCs. Ten times smaller. Ten times cheaper. Ten times lower power consumption. Little wonder then that it may follow a similar but different trajectory than DSCs."

Feisal predicts that "In 2010 and beyond, camera phones start to become a mature technology that provides consistent, dependable DSC-like performance. Auto-focusing, optical zooming, strong flashes and picture quality resemble DSCs."
